10 Reasons to Join Me in Sri Lanka
There are some places that seem made for retreat.
Places that invite you to slow down, step out of your usual routines and reconnect with yourself.
Sri Lanka is one of those places, and it is one I hold very close to my heart.
In November 2026, I’m taking a small group of women to the south coast of Sri Lanka for seven days of rest, exploration, inner work, beautiful food, yoga, meditation and experiences designed to bring you back to yourself.
If you’ve been wondering whether to come, here are ten reasons to join me.
1. Sri Lanka is the world’s #1 trending wellness destination for 2026
Sri Lanka has been named the world’s number one trending wellness destination for 2026 by BookRetreats, with interest in the destination increasing by 100%.
And it isn’t difficult to see why.
Sri Lanka has a rich tradition of Ayurveda, meditation, yoga and herbal healing, combined with tropical landscapes, beautiful beaches and a slower rhythm of life.
I have been coming to Sri Lanka for 20 years, and the rich culture and wellbeing traditions are part of life I have always loved.
2. You’ll have space to do the deeper inner work
This isn’t simply a week away.
Through daily Self-Inquiry, Internal Family Systems, coaching and nervous system practices, we’ll explore the patterns and protective parts that may be keeping you stuck, reactive or playing small.
We’ll work with regulation, capacity, expansion and purpose, creating more space to respond differently and reconnect with what matters to you.
3. Seven days gives your system time to settle
There is something powerful about stepping away from the constant demands of everyday life.
No rushing from one thing to the next. Fewer decisions. Fewer roles to perform.
Many women don’t realise how exhausted or depleted they are until they have permission to stop.
Research into residential mindfulness retreats has found reductions in stress and anxiety, alongside positive changes in some markers associated with inflammation.
And sometimes what we need most is simply enough time for the noise to quieten.
4. The food will be incredible
Throughout the week we’ll share fresh, nourishing, home-cooked Sri Lankan meals.
Think cashew curry, dhal, string hoppers, sambols, tropical fruit and beautiful local flavours.
We’ll also take part in a Sri Lankan cooking class, learning more about the ingredients, spices and techniques behind some of the food we’ve been enjoying.
5. You’ll experience Sri Lanka’s traditional healing culture
Sri Lanka has a long history of Ayurveda and plant-based healing.
We’ll visit an Ayurvedic garden and learn more about local herbs, spices and traditional healing practices.
It is a chance to experience a very different relationship with wellbeing, one deeply connected to nature and everyday life.
6. We’ll immerse ourselves in Sri Lanka’s tea traditions
Sri Lanka is famous for its tea, and we’ll visit a White Tea Plantation to learn more about how this delicate tea is grown and harvested.
Tea will also be woven into the retreat through sacred tea ceremonies, something I have found to be an incredibly profound experience and a powerful way to build capacity.
A chance to slow down, become present and simply receive.
7. You’ll actually experience Sri Lanka
We won’t spend the whole week inside the retreat venue.
We’ll take a boat trip on Lake Koggala, visit temples, spend time along the beautiful south coast and explore Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There will be culture, nature, beauty and adventure alongside the deeper inner work.
8. Your body gets to be part of the retreat too
Each day will include nurturing yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatic nervous system practices and more.
We’ll also weave in ritual, cacao ceremony and restorative practices throughout the week.
We are fortunate to have guest yoga teacher Simone Grant join us for the duration of the retreat.
Some moments will be deep. Others will simply help you return to your joy.
9. You’ll share it with a small group of women
There is something very special about stepping away with a small group of women.
The conversations deepen. The masks drop. You realise you are not the only one carrying what you are carrying.
On my last retreat, every participant rated every category of the retreat 10 out of 10.
But what I remember most is the connection that formed between the women who came.
10. The retreat doesn’t end when you fly home
Coming home is where integration really begins.
That’s why this retreat includes two follow-up online group coaching sessions.
We’ll reconnect, notice what has shifted and support you to bring what you discovered in Sri Lanka into your actual life.
Because the point isn’t to become a different person for seven days.
It is to come home more connected to yourself.
Sometimes we need to leave our normal life to see our life differently
This retreat is an invitation to ask:
- How do I want to be now?
- What am I ready to leave behind?
- What parts of myself have I lost touch with?
- What might become possible if I gave myself the space to listen?
My hope is that you leave Sri Lanka feeling nourished and rested.
But also clearer.
More spacious.
More connected to yourself and to what matters.
