We have our School Quiz Night coming up on the Island - think of it as the event of the season in Bridgerton terms. It sells out in three minutes most years (which probably says something about how exciting our lives are here 😂).
Of course, we immediately created a group chat to figure out the costumes — the theme is Platinum! My gorgeous friend shared a phenomenal and extensive list of dress-up ideas, and her creativity wowed everyone. She replied with, “I’m really committed to procrastination today”.
And it completely landed for me - because I do it too, a lot! I suddenly become “super productive,” creative, ticking off all these random jobs I never even knew needed to be done… just to avoid the one thing I actually need to do.
That’s what I call fake productivity.
Tony Robbins puts it perfectly: “Never mistake movement for achievement.”
In this week’s podcast, I share why fake productivity is one of the most sophisticated forms of procrastination, how to spot it, and the shifts that will move you back into real, needle-moving productivity.
Next time you catch yourself in motion but not in progress, pause and ask: am I in fake productivity or real productivity? Awareness is always the first step to change.
With love,
Simone ✨
